High Buildings Required to Install CCTV Systems
According to the 1st Quarter Construction Safety Working Conference held by Guangdong Foshan Nanhai Construction and Engineering Management Bureau, starting from May 2010, all construction sites including residence buildings and municipal infrastructure projects must install cctv surveillance camera systems. At the moment, relevant camera systems are being tested.
Mr. Cai Hanquan, director of Nanhai Housing and Urban Construction Bureau, said Nanhai would popularize the cctv surveillance camera systems in construction sites. The construction management departments, construction companies and engineering companies will work together to realize live long distance monitor, to prevent serious security accidents from happening. After the installation of cctv surveillance camera systems, Nanhai construction sites safety supervision station will be able to monitor and check the staff’s attendance on the sites, important dangerous source situations, and some potential safety risks.
According to the policy, after May 1st, all housings and municipal infrastructure projects which belong to one of the eight conditions such as real estate development projects, high buildings of 15 floors or above, deep foundation drainage project of 5 meters or above, construction cost more than 10 million Chinese Yuan, etc. must install cctv surveillance camera systems. Those who have obtained Construction Engineering Working Permit and belong to one of the above conditions, but did not finish the main building by May 1st, and it is more than half a year before completing the reasonable project schedule, shall also install cctv surveillance camera systems.
