As the core technology CCD and DSP of CCTV security cameras is grasped in foreign brand factories, it is quite difficult to make a break-through in such technologies. Now that many overseas branded manufacturers set up their branch factories in China, the local manufacturers are gradually losing their advantages on labor cost. Domestic manufacturers who want to make development in cctv security camera market have to reduce the production cost, improve management, quality and service as well, and to meet individual requirements of the clients.
Product segmentation is getting more and more obvious. Sony’s ExView CCD technology is high in production cost but is the best choice for high end products. When used with IR technology, the effect is much better in low light level. On the other hand, there is a kind of infrared sensitive emulsion cctv camera. It gives special treatment to filters to achieve color in the day time, black and white in the night. The change is automatic and increases the sensitivity in the night, which is also a trend in the development of cctv security cameras.
It has become a fashion for the safety and security surveillance to be digital and network based. As a pioneer in cctv surveillance industry, cctv cameras will undoubtedly play an important part in this reform. According to some statistics, IP cameras will increase by no less than 50% every year. But the technology in the domestic market is not mature enough and to meet the image standard of traditional wired cctv security cameras, it still has a long way to go.
