Analysis of CCTV Situation and Development in the Chinese Market
IDC, a professional market research and consulting institute, carried out a research on the CCTV market in the world-wide scale. In fact, as a series of group security incidents happened around the world, such as subway terrorist attack in Russia, bus attack in the UK, etc., the government, stores, and factories are having a much higher concern towards CCTV markets. However, the political meaning given by the regional heat-point incidents and the indirect construction investment brought by them is extraordinary.
On the other hand, after the marketing promotion and education in the past years, CCTV surveillance investment is witnessing a rapid development either in traditionally booming industry like finance and public security, or in new industry like transportation, telecommunication, broadcasting, industrial parks, hospitals, etc.

Transportation Market
At the end of 2008, after the global economic crisis, the Chinese government has put forward 4000 billion invigoration proposals, among which a bigger part is placed on transportation infrastructure construction. This makes the demand for CCTV equipment rocket in railway network, air network, high way network, and other city transportation sub-industries. According to IDC market research, all forms of high-volume, high-speed transportation means, including city-to-city express railway and passenger railway governed by Railway Department, as well as those governed by Transportation Department, have put the use of CCTV equipments to a height that has never been reached before, based on the consideration of security.
Finance Chain Market
Since the beginning of 2009, more and more big state-owned banks like ICBC have paced up the investment of CCTV equipments. Agricultural Bank of China even has the major CCTV equipment under public bidding and universal purchase because of the large scale of CCTV project. IDC believes, it has become an important reason for financial industry to increase CCTV budget that the advantage of universal purchase should be enhanced; security and service levels should be improved and managed.
Industrial Parks Market
Besides the projects the require high protection in short period such as Beijing Olympics and Shanghai International Fair, the high-tech areas, software parks, industrial development zones and scenic parks which have larger open space, longer working period and lower protection levels are developing at a fast speed. Especially when the country is putting forward the new policy of Western Part Development, actively building inner land economic development zones and trying to attract enterprises to enter, the CCTV market for such zones is quite potential and promising.
Requirements of Industry Clients are getting clearer!
As more and more clients find it hard to discover the crime incidents in time and in accuracy, and to analyse the connection between the incidents, CCTV surveillance technology comes into being.
Nowadays, CCTV systems with intellectual function like surrounding alarm, abnormal behaviour analysis, population statistics, and moving picture following and enlarging, have gradually been applied in bank treasury, airport waiting lounge, nuclear station and satellite. Furthermore, the violence incidents like Hiding Cats which happened earlier this year make the requirements for intellectual modes, such as surrounding alarm and abnormal behaviour analysis, increase in prisons. Of course, intellectual CCTV still faces certain problems, including the stability of the system, and above all, the high price for small usage clients.
